About the CJ750

Anwers to some common questions!
The CJ750 is an almost identical copy of the BMW R-71 from 1940's since the original tooling was bought from BMW by RUSSIA and later some of it sold to CHINA it has all caracteristics of the period. The engine is a FLATHEAD 2 valve 4 stroke with old style carburetors, its not designed to be run in high RPM for long periods of time, it is designed for low RPM leisure ridding and cruising, for example: a stock bike should not be ridden in the FRWY, since it would push the bike to its very limit, However a upgraded bike with the engine 'Power Pack" can cruise at low Frwy speeds. The brakes are drums and not very eficient, the suspension is very basic with the front telescopic forks and the rear plungers, the clutch is mechanical but very soft and smooth in operation, the transmission is clunky but positive in engagement, just like it was on BSA, ARIEL and HARLEY's of the past. Electricals are basic also, with headlight, tail light and signals. The 12volt models have electric start, the 6volt do not. CJ750 like any antique or vintage motorbike are considerably high maintenance compared with modern motorcycles. They required the valves, carburetors, clutch and timming to be adjusted from time to time. However they have a low maintenance shaft drive instead of a chain and a 2 plate dry clutch that lasts a lifetime. The bike is overbuild, the frame is very thick and tough, the engine/transmission parts are massive. The CJ750 is designed to last! Unlike today's motorcycles, the use of plastics is limited to a few electrical components, the rest is 'STEEL'. The bike is very easy to ride and manuaverable, the flat engine creates a low center of gravitie. The seat is adjustable in height and stiffnes and quite comfortable. The CJ750 draws a lot of attention and you will have to answer question about the bike every time you ride it! This motorbike is a beatifull piece of machinery worthy of being put in someones living room. It's very rewarding to own, very different and a piece of history.
